Copy

Overview

Copying an object allows a User to create a new object using the information of the existing one. The new object will be an exact copy of the original object with a new name of the format "oldname_copyX". The new object name as well as all other details can now be changed by the User and saved independently of the original object.

Unlike clones, copies are not linked to the original object that they were created from. To create a new version of an object Users must use the clone functionality.

Where is this done?

The copying functionality is available in all registries. A copy of an object can be created regardless of the status of the object.
